Producer Richard Gordon's take on the Burke & Hare tale seems to have dropped out of sight. With an incredible cast, this deserves rediscovery.

Sinister offers it, VHS only. Diarmuid Kelly and Michael Ripper make a truly scary, vicious Burke and Hare, but I found it very talky and stagey.

FLESH AND THE FIENDS is probably the better told tale, but the players on hand here do make this one worthwhile.

THE ANATOMIST wasn't a really feature film, which is why it has managed to stay out of the reference books. It was a made-for-British TV movie which was picked up for theatrical release in the US....
